Ford has unveiled its new EV for Europe called the Explorer, although it is completely different than the upcoming electric Explorer that will arrive in the U.S. soon. This Explorer is a small electric crossover that is based on Volkswagen’s MEB platform and is built in Germany.

The compact Explorer EV looks to be about the same size as the VW ID.4 and the Ford Escape and Bronco Sport. Ford has not released any powertrain specs, but it will be offered in rear- and all-wheel drive versions.

Inside there’s a 146-inch vertical touchscreen and a digital gauge cluster.

Ford does not plan to offer this Explorer EV in the U.S., but Ford is working on a second larger MEB-based electric crossover that might make it to our shores.
