Ford may have just recently unveiled the 2019 Ford Mustang Bullitt, but it’s not stopping there. Ford has confirmed that the Mustang Shelby GT500 will arrive in 2019 with more than 700 horsepower. Let the battle with the Camaro ZL1 begin!

The Mustang Shelby GT500 will be powered by a supercharged V8 making it the most powerful street-legal production Ford ever and twice as powerful as the original 1967 Mustang performance model.

Last month a photo surfaced online that revealed that the 2020 Ford Mustang GT500 will be powered by a supercharged version of the GT350’s 5.2L flat-plane crank V8 engine. Obviously that new supercharger is going to have to pack some serious power if it’s going to help that engine crank out over 700 horsepower. There’s even a rumor that the final number could be closer to 750 horsepower.

It’s expected that the V8 will be mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission.
