Cadillac has unveiled its new electric flagship, the Celestiq, a large electric sedan that will sit at the top of its future lineup. Today Cadillac released what it describes as a “show car” version of the Celestiq, but the production version is expected to look nearly identical to what you see here.

Cadillac’s designers were inspired by prewar V16-powered coachbuilt cars and the 1957 Eldorado Brougham when they were designing the Celestiq. We’re calling it a sedan, but the overall shape of the Celestiq features a sleek fastback roofline with a hatchback.

Rumors say that the Celestiq’s starting price will be around $300,000, which means that this new flagship will rival Rolls-Royce and Bentley.

The Celestiq is packed with tech, like a 55-inch full digital display and a four-panel glass roof that can be set to different transparency levels for the driver and passengers. It will also feature GM’s new Ultra Cruise autonomous driver assistance tech, which can work on 95% of U.S. roads.

Under the skin, the Celestiq is based on GM’s Ultium platform, but Cadillac hasn’t released any specs. The Celestiq could have a driving range over 400 miles. The production version is slated to arrive for the 2025 model year.
