After teasing us for weeks, Dodge has finally unveiled its latest monster – the 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon. The Challenger SRT Demon makes the Hellcat look like weak with its 840 horsepower on tap!

The Challenger SRT Demon is powered by a 840-horsepower, supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI Demon V-8, with 770 lb-ft. of torque. The limited-production Challenger SRT Demon is powered by the world’s most powerful factory-production V-8. The Challenger SRT Demon is also the fastest ¼-mile car in the world, with an NHRA-certified time of 9.65 seconds @ 140 mph.

It also only takes 1 second for it to reach 30 mph and 2.3 seconds to reach 60 mph!

The Challenger SRT Demon also is the world’s first production car to lift the front wheels at launch and set the world record for longest wheelie from a standing start by a production car at 2.92 feet. Lastly the Challenger SRT Demon also registers the highest g-force (1.8 g) ever recorded at launch in a production car.

The Challenger SRT Demon may look like something that should only be allowed on a drag strip, but its actually street legal. In addition to its 840 horsepower V8, the Challenger SRT Demon also gets Nitto street-legal drag radials, a direct connection engine controller calibrated for 100+ unleaded high-octane fuel and an SRT Power Chiller redirects air conditioning refrigerant to chill the charger air cooler. A new TransBrake feature actually locks the output shaft of the eight-speed automatic transmission to hold the car before launch, allowing the driver to increase the engine rpm for a faster launch.

As it speeds down the road, you’ll also notice its new wide-body styling that house the large 18-inch tires. And of course the Challenger SRT Demon comes standard with only a driver’s seat, but you can add back the front passenger seat and rear seat for only $1 each.

Production of the limited-edition 2018 Challenger SRT Demon begins later this summer, with 3,000 vehicles for the U.S. and 300 vehicles for Canada.
