The EPA has released the official fuel economy specs for the diesel-powered 2014 BMW 328d, which is rated at 32 mpg in the city and 45 mpg on the highway. BMW has yet to publish the specs, but the EPA estimates that the 328d also has a combined rating of 37 mpg.
Those figures beat the VW Jetta TDI and even puts the 328d in the same range as some hybrid models. The 328d is powered by a 2.0-liter engine with 180 horsepower and 280 lb-ft. of torque. BMW will also offer the 328d with all-wheel-drive, which brings its rating down to 32/ 43 mpg. You can also get the diesel in the 3 Series wagon.
