Will the successor to the Corvette Z06 be powered by a new turbocharged 4.5L V8?
Last month GM unveiled the Cadillac Elmiraj concept, which is expected to hint at a new flagship Cadillac sedan. The Elmiraj concept also featured a new 4.5L twin turbocharged V8 engine with 500 horsepower. Carscoops claims to have received a tip that the same 4.5L V8 will be used by the successor to the Corvette Z06, which may be called the Z07.
If the rumor is true, the Corvette will likely get an even more powerful version of the 4.5L V8 with somewhere around 600 horsepower.
Also regarding the much talked about Cadillac flagship sedan, it’s now expected to arrive for the 2016 model year and will be powered by a new 3.0L turbocharged V6 in addition to the 3.6L turbocharged V6 that is offered in the CTS V-sport. The 4.5L V8 could also be offered.
