Consumer Reports is updating its list of “Recommended” vehicles and sadly six vehicles no longer make the cut – the Tesla Model 3, Acura RDX, Chrysler 300, Dodge Charger, BMW 5 Series, and Volkswagen Tiguan.
Consumer Reports says that the six vehicles lost their “Recommended” rating due to declining reliability. “Consumers expect their cars to last—and not be in the repair shop. That’s why reliability is so important. The latest results from CR’s exclusive reliability survey give us more real-time information on 2018 vehicles—so we can make more robust predictions about 2019 models people will buy.” – Consumer Reports.
Tesla Model 3 owners reported to Consumer Reports problems with loose body trim and glass defects. The Chrysler 300 was dinged for its in-car electronics and transmission.
“Our predictions are not a guarantee that any individual model will be reliable, but we believe that consumers who chose vehicles with a higher rating will be less likely to experience serious issues with their car.”
Not all the news is bad, since three cars were added to the Recommended list – the BMW X3, Genesis G90, and Lincoln Nautilus.
