Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne has revealed that the Chrysler Town & Country minivan and Jeep Compass crossover will be dropped in 2014. Marchionne wants to eliminate any product overlaps in the Chrysler Group lineup. The Chrysler Town & Country is the Dodge Caravan’s twin and the Jeep Compass shares its platform with the Jeep Patriot.
The announcement means that Chrysler will only have one minivan, since the Town & Country will be replaced by a new crossover, which may keep the same name when it is introduced in 2014. The Jeep Compass will be produced alongside the new Dodge Dart until August 2014.
