Chrysler Recalls Almost 300,000 Jeep and Dodge Vehicles

Yay for more recalls! Chrysler announced today that the automaker is recalling almost 300,000 Jeep and Dodge SUVs due to potential brake problems.

All of the vehicles affected are 2006 and 2007 models. The list includes more than 156,000 Jeep Grand Cherokees and Jeep Commanders, more than 90,000 Jeep Wranglers and almost 50,000 Dodge Nitro SUVs.

The issue involves a brake delay that occurs while going up hill. There have been 20 complaints that the SUV’s breaks suffer a delay. Chrysler is going to reprogram the computer that controls the antilock breaking system.

Additionally the automaker is recalling more than 72,000 2008 Dodge Avenger sedans and Chrysler Sebring Convertibles due to faulty front door latches and locks.
