General Motors has announced that it will increase production of the 2019 Chevy Bolt electric car by 20 percent later this year. The increased production is a response to Bolt sales, which were up 35 percent in the second quarter of this year and 40 percent overall so far this year.

“Demand for the Chevrolet Bolt EV, especially in the United States, Canada and South Korea, has outstripped production,” McNeil said. “The extra production coming on line should be enough to help us keep growing global Bolt EV sales, rebuild our U.S. dealer inventory and bring us another step closer to our vision of a world with zero emissions.”

Production of the 2019 Chevy Bolt will increase in the fourth quarter of this year. The updates to the 2019 Bolt have not been officially revealed yet, but it’s reportedly getting two new color options and a new Tire Fill Alert feature
