Camaro5 is reporting today that the Camaro Z28 is officially going to enter production on Jan 12, 2012.

Details about the 2012 Camaro Z28 were reportedly discussed during a recent national dealer meeting. During the meeting the Z28 was actually referred to as the “HP Edition.” If the details are accurate the Z28 will be powered by a supercharged 6.2L V8. The hood is expected to have a louvre/slat design and a bulge to make room for the supercharger. The interior will be pretty much the same as the lesser powered Camaros.

It’s not known when it will be officially unveiled, but there is the Chicago Auto Show next month and New York in March…
