Cadillac’s partial autonomous Super Cruise technology will soon be available on not only every Cadillac model, but also some of GM’s other models. Cadillac has announced that it will be available on all Cadillac models starting in 2020.

Cadillac Super Cruise

Currently Cadillac only offers the hands-free driver assistance Super Cruise technology on the CT6 flagship sedan, but the good news is that buyers will soon be able to add it to other models, like the new XT4 crossover. Cadillac has also announced that it plans to offer V2X communications in a new crossover by 2023 before it expands the technology across its lineup.

“The expansion of Super Cruise and V2X communications technology demonstrates Cadillac’s commitment to innovation, and to making customers’ lives better,” stated Mark Reuss, GM executive vice president of Global Product Development, Purchasing and Supply Chain. “GM is just as committed to ushering in a new era of personal transportation, and technologies like these will enable it.”

The Super Cruise technology is great, since it takes over control of most of the driving tasks on the freeway. The driver simply puts the vehicle in the designated lane and the Super Cruise technology takes over the steering, braking and acceleration. The only thing the driver has to do is keep its eyes on the road and take over if a lane change is needed.
