This week we get to see the Cadillac’s first EV, the Cadillac Lyriq, which is going to debut on August 6. Cadillac has already confirmed that it will soon have five electric vehicles in its lineup and now we’re learning more about what they will likely be called.
It was recently discovered that Cadillac trademarked the “Symboliq” name, but now GM Authority has discovered that Cadillac also recently trademarked the name “Optiq”.
The first two Cadillac electric vehicles will be the Lyriq electric crossover and the Celestiq electric sedan. The other three EVs will be a compact crossover that’s about the same size as the XT4, a three-row crossover that’s similar in size to the XT6 and a full-size electric SUV, that’s expected to be an electric version of the Escalade.
This means that the Optiq and Symboliq will likely be the names for two of the electric crossovers.
