Cadillac is working on a new range of plug-in hybrids, but one model that won’t be around much longer is the ELR. Cadillac president Johan de Nysschen revealed this week at the New York Auto Show that the current ELR will only be around for a short term.
“The ELR will continue through its lifecycle,” he said, however, “I don’t’ think we will create a next-generation, compact, two-door, gorgeously styled alternative powertrain successor to ELR.”

This month Cadillac is going to reveal its next plug-in hybrid – the CT6 plug-in hybrid. The CT6 flagship sedan was revealed this week, but the plug-in hybrid version won’t debut until later this month at the Shanghai Motor Show. Cadillac is also working on plug-in hybrid versions of the rest of its sedan lineup.
