Last week Cadillac previewed its future lineup to its entire dealer network at its dealer business conference in Las Vegas. Cadillac not only provided more details about its “renaissance” but it also previewed the new CT4 and CT5 sedans, as well as the XT6 three-row crossover and the next-generation Escalade.
According to sources that spoke with Automotive News, the reaction to the new Cadillac models was positive at the dealer meeting. “This was like the high notes from every Cadillac meeting I’ve been to in the last 25 years as a Cadillac dealer,” stated Nelson Andrews, dealer principal of Andrews Cadillac in Brentwood, Tennessee. “I’m very impressed by the team right now. I feel this is the meeting Cadillac needed.”
The dealer meeting is the first major event for Cadillac President Steve Carlisle, who replaced Johan de Nysschen earlier this year. “We want everybody to have a bounce in their step because we’ve got a bright future ahead of us,” Carlisle told Automotive News. “We brought all the elements together as a confidence builder and to demonstrate that as candidly as we could.”
While Cadillac did preview its new sedans, the XT6 crossover and the new Escalade, it’s also being reported that Cadillac did not discuss the idea of a sports car being added to its lineup. Either way, from now until 2020 Cadillac will release a new model every six months. The 2019 Cadillac XT4 is getting ready to show up at dealers and Cadillac has already confirmed that it will reveal its next new model at the 2019 Detroit Auto Show in January.
