Cadillac recently unveiled the CT4-V and CT5-V high performance sedans, but it looks like Cadillac has more plans for its high performance lineup.

At the recent introduction for the XT6 crossover, Cadillac boss Steve Carlisle hinted to Road & Track that Cadillac may expand the V-Series lineup to include SUVs, “I say why not?” There have been rumors that the next-generation Escalade could arrive with the 6.2L supercharged LT4 V8 that powers the Chevy Camaro ZL1 and Corvette Z06. If that’s true, a 650-hp Escalade does sound exciting.

There have also been rumors that Cadillac may use the Blackwing name for the hotter versions of the CT4-V and CT5-V, but Carlisle hinted that, that may not happen. “The engine is one question, but the idea of Blackwing is another question,” he stated. “You can literally equate it with the engine, or you can equate it with the concept high-performance track-capable. So then what can we do with the Blackwing?”
