Cadillac ATS and Chevy Malibu to Share Turbocharged 2.0L

It’s already been reported that the all-new 2013 Chevy Malibu will not be getting a V6 when it is released in the U.S. early next year. GM has already unveiled the eAssist and 2.5L versions, but we have yet to hear what GM has in store as a replacement for the current V6.

GMI is reporting that the Malibu is set to get a 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder that it will share with the upcoming Cadillac ATS. The 2.0L turbocharged engine will be all-new and part of GM’s new family of Ecotec four-cylinders. It’s expected that the engine will put out between 270-280 horsepower.
