Even though Buick unveiled an all-new Verano compact sedan last year in China, it’s being reported that the Verano’s days are numbered in the U.S. According to sources, the current Verano will continue in the U.S. through the 2017 model year.
The decision to discontinue the Verano, likely has to do with the fact that most of Buick’s sales are from its crossover lineup and not its three sedans. As much as 70 percent of Buick’s sales are from its crossover lineup, which includes the Encore and Enclave. The new Envision crossover will also add more sales when it goes on sale next month.

2017-Buick-Encore

Even though the Verano is being overshadowed by models, like the Encore, Buick still sold 32,000 Veranos last year. That means that Buick will now need to convince those compact sedan buyers to move into, something like the Encore or even the new Envision crossover.
