We recently reported that General Motors trademarked the Buick Encore GX name and now it’s been discovered that the Envision GX name has also been trademarked. It’s clear that Buick is planning a new lineup of GX branded models, but what exactly does the GX name mean?
The Envision GX trademark doesn’t really provide any big details about what it could actually be. According to the trademark application with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), the Envision GX name will be used for “Motor land vehicles, namely automobiles, sport utility vehicles, trucks and vans.”
While Buick currently sells the Buick Excelle GX in China, this marks the first time that the Encore and Envision will both be getting GX versions. We’ll have to wait and see if an Enclave GX is also in the works.
