Bollinger Motors has unveiled the B2 electric pickup truck, which is based on the B1 electric sport utility truck. The Bollinger B2 takes everything we love about the B1, but its 5’9″ bed and 5,000 pound towing capacity turns it into a true work truck.
“The new B2 incorporates everything that we’ve learned in making the B1, and takes it in an exciting new direction,” comments Bollinger Motors Founder Robert Bollinger. “It’s always been the plan to have both the B1 and B2 start off our line-up. Now that we have so much incredible data from testing our B1 prototype, we can put all of that engineering knowledge into our final four-door B1 and B2 vehicles. It’s the Pickup I always wanted and something crazy better than what’s available on the market today.”
Just like the Bollinger B1, the B2 pickup is powered by dual electric motors that give it all-wheel drive. The B2’s electric motors are powered by a 120 kWh battery pack. The B2 can also carry up to 72 full 4′ x 8′ sheets of plywood with the internal cab tailgate down. Bollinger hasn’t announced the range for the B2, but the B1 will be offered with two battery options: a 60 kWh or 100 kWh battery pack that gives the B1 either 120 miles or 200 miles of range.
Production of both the B1 and B2 are expected to begin in 2020, but pricing will be announced sometime in 2019. Bollinger Motors is currently taking reservations for both the B1 and B2.
