BMW has some ambitious electric plans where it hopes to release 25 new electrified vehicles by 2025, with 12 of them being full electric vehicles. BMW has confirmed that over the next year it will preview some of its new EVs as concepts, with the first one being a preview of the iX3 electric SUV.

Harald Krüger, Chairman of the Board of Management of BMW AG announced the plans this week. The BMW iX3 SUV will be an electrified version of the X3 SUV and we’ll get to see a concept version of the new EV next month at the Beijing Motor Show. The BMW iX3 won’t arrive until 2020, which will then be followed by the BMW iNext, which BMW refers to as its “technology flagship.”

After the iNext arrives, BMW will introduce the BMW i4, which was already previewed by the i Vision Dynamics concept.

“Our future is definitely electric. With our electric vehicles and plug-in hybrid models, we are already the clear number one in Europe,” Krüger stated.
