The 2019 BMW M2 Competition will officially arrive in July and when it does, be prepared to pay a premium. The 2019 M2 Competition will start at $58,900, which is $4,400 more than the current M2. That extra $4 grand does get you the same S55 engine as the M3 and M4, plus a long list of other performance goodies.

Under the hood the M2 Competition is powered by a 3.0L biturbo six-cylinder that generates 405 horsepower and 406 lb-ft. of torque. The six-cylinder can be mated to either a standard six-speed manual or a seven-speed DCT that costs an extra $2,900. With the DCT the M2 Competition reaches 60 mph in 4.0 seconds, while the manual takes 4.2 seconds. The top speed is electronically limited to 155 mph, but the available $2,500 M Driver’s Package unlocks a 174 mph top speed.
