BMW X5 Plug-in Hybrid Prototype Unveiled, Can Travel Up to 18 Miles in EV Mode

Following the debut of the Concept X5 eDrive plug-in hybrid, BMW has now unveiled a prototype of the upcoming X5 plug-in hybrid.

Following the debut of the Concept X5 eDrive plug-in hybrid, BMW has now unveiled a prototype of the upcoming X5 plug-in hybrid. BMW has announced that the X5 plug-in hybrid, which will likely be called X5 eDrive, will be powered by a turbocharged four-cylinder mated to an electric motor and BMW’s xDrive all-wheel-drive system.

The X5 plug-in hybrid will reach 0-62 mph in under seven seconds and will have a 74 mpg rating on the EU cycle. BMW says that it is also capable of traveling over 18 miles in full electric mode. BMW hasn’t announced when the X5 plug-in hybrid will be released.
