BMW has unveiled the X4 concept, which is a thinly disguised preview of the upcoming X4 crossover, which will arrive early next year. The X4 concept is a smaller take on the “sports activity coupe,” which BMW first introduced as the BMW X6 back in 2008.
The X4 concept takes the overall design of the X6, but in a smaller packaged. It features the same coupe-like roofline as the X6, but borrows many design cues from the 3 Series and X3 models. It measures 4,648 mm long, 1,15 mm wide and is 1,622 mm tall. It has has a long wheelbase that is 2,810 mm long and rides on 21-inch alloy wheels.
BMW hasn’t provided any details to what powers the X4 concept, but the production version is expected to feature the same powertrain as the X3.
The X4 concept will take the stage later this month at the Shanghai Motor Show.
