Thirty years ago, BMW introduced the first ever M3 convertible in 1988 and now BMW is celebrating the 30th anniversary with the release of the BMW M4 Convertible 30 Jahre edition. The new special edition is great, but there’s one big problem, it’s not coming to the US.

Only 300 examples of the BMW M4 Convertible 30 Jahre editions are being produced and all of them will feature the M Competition Package. The special M4 packs 450 hp, an M Sport exhaust system, adaptive M suspension with specific Sport mode and a re-calibrated stability control system DSC and the Active M differential.

Two special colors are available: Macao Blue metallic or Mandarin II uni, which is reminiscent of the Dakar Yellow that was available on the second-generation M3 Convertible. It also adds BMW Individual High Gloss Shadow Line trims for the BMW kidney grille surround, the M side gills, the model lettering and 20-inch forged M Orbit Grey light alloy wheels.

Inside there’s Merino leather seats, contrast stitching on the headrests as well as M floor mats with piping in the respective contrasting color. Lastly the lettering “30 Jahre Edition” is imprinted both on the doorsills and the headrests.
