The 2019 Porsche 911 GT3 RS is here! After seeing leaked photos, Porsche has unveiled the updated 2019 911 GT3 RS, which is now even hotter than before.
For starters the 2019 911 GT3 RS now has 520 horses pumping out of its naturally aspirated 4.0L flat-six engine, 20 more than before. The engine also generates 346 lb.-ft. of torque. The new 911 GT3 RS accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in 3.0 seconds, 0.2 seconds quicker than the current 911 GT3 with PDK and 0.1 seconds quicker than the previous 911 GT3 RS. The 2019 911 GT3 RS has a top speed of 193 mph.
Moving on past the upgrades to the powertrain, the 2019 911 GT3 RS also gets a slightly restyled front fascia features a larger spoiler lip that increases downforce in conjunction with the larger side skirts. At the rear, the large wing mounted and underbody diffuser help increase the amount of downforce. The result: The 2019 911 GT3 RS produces more than twice as much downforce as the regular 911 GT3 at 124 mph.
The 2019 911 GT3 RS rides on 20-inch wheels at the front and larger 21-inch wheels at the rear. To reduce its weight, Porsche’s engineers have installed lightweight glass for the rear window and rear side windows, lightweight door panels, reduced sound insulation, and deleted the rear seats.
A Weissach package is available to to reduce the weight of the 911 GT3 RS even further. The front and rear sway bars and coupling rods, vehicle roof, steering wheel trim, and shift paddles on the steering wheel are all made of carbon fiber, to reduce the weight by 13 pounds. Optional forged magnesium wheels, weighing around 25 pounds less than the standard wheels, are available as well. The package and all its options lowers the weight of the 911 GT3 RS to 3,153 pounds.
The 2019 Porsche 911 GT3 RS arrives this fall with the pricing starting at $188,550. The Weissach Package adds an extra $18,000 to that price and if you choose to add the magnesium wheels be prepared to write a check for an extra $13,000.
