BMW has unveiled a new version of the M240i – the M240i M Performance Edition. BMW says that the new M Performance Edition is meant “to express the athletic appeal of the compact sport coupé even more.”
The BMW M240i M Performance Edition only adds five horsepower.
It’s name may make you get excited that BMW has created a faster and more powerful M240i, but that’s not really the case here. The BMW M240i M Performance Edition is powered by the same turbocharged six-cylinder engine, but with 340 horsepower, it only generates 5 more horsepower than the regular M240i.

Instead of focusing on more actual performance, the M240i M Performance Edition adds more style to the coupe. It rides on unique Orbit Grey 19-inch wheels and the front gets new air guides, splitter and a matte black spoiler lip. The radiator grille including kidney grille bars are also painted in black. At the rear there’s a rear diffuser and a carbon-fibre rear spoiler.
If you want one you can choose either a 6-speed manual or an 8-speed Steptronic sports transmission. Plus BMW’s all-wheel drive xDrive is an option. Production of the BMW M240i M Performance Edition will be limited to 750 units.
