Lamborghini CEO Stefano Domenicali has revealed that the brand’s upcoming Urus SUV will be powered by a V8 twin-turbocharged engine that will generate 650 horsepower. Lamborghini has yet to reveal the production version of its new SUV, but it will debut by the end of the year.
Lamborghini’s CEO also revealed to the Automotive News that the Urus will be offered with a plug-in hybrid version a year after the standard Urus goes on sale, which means it should arrive sometime in 2019.
Following its debut later this year, the Lamborghini Urus will go on sale first in Europe in the second quarter of 2018 with a price tag just below 200,000 euros. The Urus will arrive in the U.S. hopefully by the third quarter of 2018 with a price tag below $200,000 before the gas guzzler tax is added in.
