BMW M1 Isn't Going to Happen, But a 135is is a Possibility

It had been rumored for a while that BMW was working on an M1 version of the 1 Series, but Inside Line received word from a source at the Geneva Motor Show that it isn’t going to happen.

Instead the source said that if a more powerful 1 Series is released it will be a 135is like BMW has done with the Z4 and 3 Series coupe. So this fall it is expected that BMW will release a 135is that will be powered by the more powerful version of the twin-turbo N54 inline six-cylinder with a more aggressively tuned suspension.
