BMW’s CEO Norbert Reithofer has confirmed plans for a new crossover known as the X4, which will be a sportier version of the X3. Think of the X4 as a baby X6.
This isn’t the first time that we’ve heard reports about a BMW X4, which will be positioned above the X3 in the BMW lineup. The X4 will share its platform and engines with the X3, but will be smaller and it will only have room for four. It’s styling is expected to mimic the larger X6 with its coupe-like roofline. BMW is expected to also release an X4 M version.
The BMW X4 is expected to go on sale in 2014.
