BMW is updating its Concept X5 eDrive for next week’s New York Auto Show. Even though the Concept X5 eDrive looks almost identical to the version we saw last year, BMW says that the concept has received “a series of detailed refinements.”
The Concept X5 eDrive previews the upcoming X5 plug-in hybrid and is powered by a 245-hp 2.0L four-cylinder engine and a 95-hp electric motor. The concept can reach 0-62 mph in under seven seconds and also travel almost 20 miles in full electric mode. BMW also estimates that it will record an average fuel consumption of 74.3 mpg on the European cycle.

Some of the updates to the Concept X5 eDrive includes the addition of the BMW iBlue color to the kidney grille bars, air intake bars and the rear bumper. The concept also gets new roof rails and rides on 21-inch alloy wheels.
Inside the Concept X5 eDrive gets Ivory White leather seats and Piano Finish Black interior trim with blue accent strips.
BMW hasn’t confirmed when the X5 plug-in hybrid will enter production, but when it does it will be built at its Spartanburg plant.
