BMW has announced the introduction of the M3 Competition Edition coupe for North America that celebrates 40 years since the introduction of the M division.
Only 40 units of the special M3 Competition Edition coupe will be produced. The special M3 coupe is painted in a Frozen Silver, rides on black 19-inch M3 GTS wheels and gets some dark chrome exterior trim pieces. The interior gets Black Novillo leather with palladium silver accents, an Alcantara M steering wheel and M logos on the door sill and handbrake lever.
The engine doesn’t get any upgrades over the standard M3, so it still packs 414 horsepower and 295 lb-ft. of torque. It’s a bit faster though with a 0-60 time of 4.5 seconds compared to 4.7 seconds.
The 2012 M3 Competition Edition starts at $81,060.
