This month is all about electric SUVs and following the debut of the Mercedes-Benz EQC and BMW Vision iNext concept, Audi has officially unveiled the 2019 Audi e-tron. Audi has been teasing us for months with photos camouflaged e-tron prototypes, so today’s debut isn’t too surprising, but at least we now get all the details, including its pricing.

2019 Audi e-tron

The 2019 Audi e-tron measures 193 inches long, 76.3 inches wide and 65.5 inches high, which gives it enough space to hold five passengers and at the same time it has 28.5 cubic feet of cargo capacity. The e-tron is powered by two electric motors, with one on each axle, but Audi isn’t ready to reveal how much horsepower and torque the e-tron’s electric powertrain generates. Either way it can reach 0-60 mph in 5.5 seconds has a top speed of 124 mph.

The 95 kWH battery system in the Audi e-tron is located beneath the cabin and its comprised of 36 cell modules in square aluminum housings, each of which is roughly the size of a shoe box. The Audi e-tron is capable of accommodating AC and DC charging. The e-tron debuts a DC fast charging capability of up to 150 kW, which can deliver up-to an 80 percent charge in only 30 minutes.

The e-tron will also be able to tap into the new nationwide charging network, “Powered by Electrify America.” By July 2019, this network will include nearly 500 fast-charging sites throughout 40 states and 17 metro areas. Audi e-tron buyers will receive 1,000 kWh of charging at Electrify America sites over four years.

The Audi e-tron will arrive in the US in the second quarter of 2019. It will be available in Premium Plus, Prestige and the limited First Edition trim level. Pricing for the 2019 Audi e-tron starts at $75,795, including the destination fees. The e-tron Presige is priced at $82,795, while the e-tron First Edition starts at $87,695. Audi is only going to build 999 First Edition models.

The e-tron comes standard with 20-inch wheels, a top view camera system, Audi side assist with cross-traffic alert, LED lighting, MMI Navigation plus w/ virtual cockpit, 12-way power heated and cooled front seats, leather seats, a panoramic sunroof and a Bang & Olufsen Premium Sound System with 3D sound.

Buyers can place a reservation now for $1,000.
