Audi has big plans to further expand its current SUV lineup from the existing Q3, Q5 and Q7 lineup. It’s been widely reported, but Audi has finally confirmed that three new SUVs will be added to its lineup by 2019.
The first new SUV will be the subcompact Q1, which will be based on the A1. The Q1 will enter production in 2016, but don’t expect to see it in the U.S. anytime soon, since Audi has no plans to introduce anything smaller than the A3 here.

The next new model will be the Q6, which will have a coupe-like profile to help it rival other coupe-like crossovers, like the BMW X6. The Q6 will also be offered with an all-electric version that will compete with the upcoming Tesla Model X. The regular versions of the Q6 coupe arrive by 2017, but the all-electric version, which will likely be called the Q6 E-tron, isn’t expected until 2018.

Lastly sometime in 2019, Audi will release the new Q8 range topping SUV. It will be a large SUV that will compete with other big luxury SUVs, like the Cadillac Escalade and Land Rover Range Rover.
