According to Auto Express, the upcoming A8 plug-in hybrid will mate a 3.0L TDI diesel engine to a an electric powertrain, which will most likely make it more fuel efficient than the Mercedes-Benz S-Class plug-in hybrid, which uses a gasoline engine. With 368 horsepower and 516 lb-ft. of torque on tap, the A8 plug-in hybrid will be no slouch either. It’s expected that it will have an electric driving range around 30 miles.
