Volvo has yet to release any photos about the S80’s replacement, the 2017 S90, but a new batch of low-resolution pictures of a 1/43 scale model have surfaced. The S80 has been on the market for almost a decade, so its replacement, the S90 is long overdue.

The S90 will adopt many of the same styling cues from the new XC90, including its headlights that also incorporate the T-shaped LED daytime running lights that Volvo calls Thor’s Hammer. As you move further back, you’ll also notice that the S90 has a sleeker roofline and large C-shaped taillights.
Under the hood, the S90 will be powered by the same 2.0L four-cylinder as the new XC90. The four-cylinder is both turbocharged and supercharged to give it 316 horsepower and 295 lb-ft. of torque.
Following the introduction of the S90 early next year, Volvo is going to introduce a wagon version, called the V90.
