A new report claims that Alfa Romeo is working on a new baby SUV that will be added below the Stelvio in Alfa Romeo’s growing lineup. We already know that Alfa Romeo is planning a larger seven passenger SUV, but now we’re hearing that Alfa Romeo is planning a rival to the Audi Q3 and BMW X1.
According to Auto Express, Alfa Romeo will introduce a new baby SUV in the next three years, which will help it reach its goal of selling 400,000 vehicles a year by 2022. The baby SUV will likely share its platform with the Stelvio and Giulia, which means that it will likely come standard with rear-wheel drive, with all-wheel drive being an option.
The baby Alfa Romeo SUV will also reportedly be offered with a range of electrified powertrains and even Level 3 autonomous driving technology.
In addition to the new SUVs, Alfa Romeo is also planning to expand its lineup with a replacement for the 8C and a GTV coupe.
