Volvo has announced that all 1,927 units of the limited “First Edition” version of the all-new XC90 sold out in a mere 47 hours.
Last week Volvo took the wraps off the all-new 2015 Volvo XC90 SUV and also announced the released of a limited “First Edition” version of the new XC90 that would go on sale this week. Volvo announced that only 1,927 units would be produced, which went on sale on Wednesday. Volvo says that all of the “First Edition” XC90 SUVs were sold out in 47 hours.
“We are very pleased, but not really surprised,” said Alain Visser, Senior Vice President, Marketing, Sales and Customer Service of Volvo Car Group. “The huge interest in the XC90 escalated to astronomical levels after the world premiere last week.”

The XC90 First Edition, which started at $65,900, features an Onyx Black exterior and rides on 8-spoke, 21-inch Inscription wheels. Inside the interior gets Nappa leather seats in Amber, a Charcoal leather dashboard and Linear Walnut inlays. The First Edition is powered by either a 320-hp 2.0L four-cylinder or a twin turbo diesel with 225 horsepower.
Pricing for the 2015 XC90 starts at $48,900.
