Acura is bringing a new hybrid version of the Acura CDX crossover to the Beijing Motor Show next week. The compact crossover shares its platform with the Honda HR-V and with the introduction of the CDX Hybrid, Acura hopes to make the CDX more appealing in China.

Acura is keeping details about the CDX Hybrid under wraps until its debut next week, so it’s not known what will power the new hybrid or if it will also get some styling updates to separate it from the standard CDX. It’s rumored that the Acura CDX Hybrid will be powered by a 1.5L four-cylinder that’s mated to an electric motor, which could generate a combined 160 horsepower.

What we’re waiting for here in the U.S. is for Acura to finally announce that it’s bringing the CDX here. Acura has already filed a patent for the design of the CDX in the U.S. and prototypes have even been spotted in the United States, but Acura hasn’t confirmed if it will be offered here.
