Here’s your first look at the all-new 2012 BMW 1 Series ahead of its official unveiling this fall in Frankfurt. This photo leak gives us a look at what we can expect at the show. The current 1 Series is not one of the most beautiful BMWs, but does this one look much better? It really isn’t a huge jump in the right direction from the current one. 
The new 1 Series adopts styling that is similar to the larger 7 Series, but we’ll have to wait to make the final decision on the new look when the car is officially unveiled in a few months. Under the hood it’s expected to get three different versions of the 1.6L turbocharged gasoline engine and three versions of the 2.0L turbocharged diesel. The engines will all be mated to either a six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic transmission.
In Europe the all-new 1 Series is expected to go on sale this fall.
