Volkswagen has released the first preview of the 2027 Volkswagen Atlas, confirming that the second-generation SUV will debut this spring at the New York International Auto Show. Ahead of its official reveal, Volkswagen has released some photos of camouflaged prototypes undergoing winter testing on a frozen lake in Québec.

We don’t have any big info yet about the new Atlas other than the fact that VW is calling it “all-new.” From these teasers we can see that the overall shape of the 2027 Atlas isn’t a major departure from the current generation.

We’ll also have to wait and see what will power the new Atlas. Volkswagen has not confirmed whether electrification will play a role in the new Atlas, but it would make sense as the brand seeks to increase its hybrid lineup.
