Porsche is getting ready to unveil the updated 2025 Taycan EV, which it says will “be presented in a few days.” Porsche has already released some teasers of the 2025 Taycan and now it’s giving us a preview of the changes under the skin.

One of the biggest criticisms about the current Taycan is that it’s driving range is a bit limited, since the base version only has a 208 mile range, while the Taycan GTS has the longest range at 246 miles. Porsche has announced that the new Taycan will have an increased driving range.

Porsche says that it recently tested prototypes of the new Taycan between Los Angeles and San Diego, where it had a range up to 587 kilometers (WLTP cycle), which translates to about 365 miles. The official EPA rating will be lower, but either way it’s a big improvement over the current Taycan. During the range test, Porsche drove at a maximum of 75 mph on the highway. Using the Electrify America Charger in Torrance, the Taycan demonstrated over 300 kW charging power and was able to charge from 10 to 80 percent state of in “well under 20 minutes.”

“A great result. The range test in Southern California impressively demonstrated how efficient the reworked Taycan is. We are continuing to focus on our ‘fast travel’ strategy for electric mobility: short charging stops paired with high real-world ranges thanks to efficient drives,” stated Vice President for the model line Kevin Giek.
