For 2026, the Kia EV6 will be cheaper, have Plug & Charge capability and a less complicated range of options. Kia has announced these price changes and improvements as they prepare to make their electric cars available to more people, and the smaller EV3 is coming soon.

The most important thing is the price drop, the pricing for the EV6 will now start at $39,445, which is almost $5k cheaper than the 2025 version. Some trim levels get an even steeper price cut closer to almost $6k.
At the same time, Kia are including more with each car; every 2026 EV6 now has a dual voltage charging cable and in addition to the DC fast charger.
Kia’s Plug & Charge is a really useful addition. As with many other manufacturers, this system lets you just plug your car into a suitable public charger and it will automatically recognise you and bill you, you don’t need apps or cards. It works with Kia’s Charge Pass and should make charging in public a lot simpler, especially if you are new to electric vehicles.

Kia are also simplifying the EV6 range for 2026. They have removed the Tech Package from the Light Long Range model, making it easier to order one and probably helping with the lower starting price.
Apart from the price and the technology, the changes are fairly small. Kia has altered the colors available, removing some and adding Wolf Grey and Glacier White Pearl with a black and brown two-tone interior. Later in the year, GT-Line models will have new two-tone paint jobs with a black roof.
The EV6’s mechanical aspects haven’t changed, and it continues to offer good all-electric range, very quick charging and a good set of safety and entertainment features.
Looking at the bigger picture, Kia are clearly trying to get more people to buy electric cars with the EV6’s price adjustment and the upcoming smaller EV3. Instead of only offering more expensive electric models, they are now covering the cheaper end of the market which will probably be more important to buyers than small changes to the car’s details.
