VW has unveiled the 2025 Volkswagen Taos, bringing refreshed styling, updated tech, and an improved powertrain.
Starting with updated exterior styling, the 2025 Volkswagen Taos features a revised face with more dynamic styling, including all-new headlights with h-shaped lighting signatures and an available front light strip connecting these new headlights. While a more aggressive front bumper rounds out the changes to the Taos’ front end.
As is often the case with midcycle refreshes, the profile of the 2025 Taos remains largely the same, while the rear receives its own full-width lightbar with an illuminated VW logo in the center, making it look more like a baby Atlas than ever.
The 2025 Volkswagen Taos also arrives with new color options, including Bright Moss Green, Monterey Blue Pearl, and Monument Gray, as well as new wheel designs ranging in size from 17 to 19 inches.
Inside, the 2025 Volkswagen Taos gets a lightly revised dashboard design with a newly standard 8-inch infotainment display, replacing the smaller 6.5-inch display on the outgoing model. This new center screen joins the same 8-inch driver display as the outgoing model.
The old physical HVAC dials have been replaced by touch-sensitive controls for better or worse. VW also upgraded the Taos’ sound deadening for a quieter, more comfortable cabin experience. A new dark blue leather option can be specced for the top-of-the-line SEL trim as well.
Standard safety systems include front assist, travel assist, active blind spot monitoring, emergency assist, rear traffic alert, lane assist, and adaptive cruise control.
The 2025 Volkswagen Taos also arrives with an updated 1.5-lt TSI four-cylinder engine with new fuel injectors, piston rings, and an updated turbo housing. These changes increase output to 174 hp, up from 158 hp. An eight-speed automatic transmission is now standard across the board, replacing the seven-speed DSG setup 4Motion AWD variants previously had.
The 2025 Volkswagen Taos will begin arriving at US dealerships later this year, with pricing information released closer to that time.
