Tomorrow we finally get to see the all-new 2025 Toyota 4Runner. Toyota has released a few teasers that show off the rear of the new 4Runner, but now it’s announced that it will also be available in the Trailhunter overlanding trim level, which debuted on the new Tacoma.
The Trailhunter trim on the Tacoma adds more off-road capability with its Old Man Emu 2.5-in. forged monotube shocks with external remote reservoirs, 18-inch wheels that are wrapped in 33-inch tires, increased ground clearance, a steel rear bumper, etc.
Toyota has not confirmed any specs or big details about the new 4Runner, but it is expected to be based on Toyota’s TNGA-F platform, which is used by every other body-on-frame model in its lineup. Since the 4Runner is closely related to the Tacoma, we expect it to get the same turbocharged four-cylinder engines, including the new hybrid version.
We’ll have all the details on April 9.
