Bentley has unveiled the 2025 Bentley Flying Spur, which says goodbye to Bentley’s W-12 engine. The big news is that the Flying Spur is now powered by the same hybrid V8 powertrain as the Continental GT Speed.
The 2025 Bentley Flying Spur is now the most powerful Bentley sedan yet, with its twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 plug-in hybrid powertrain. It generates 771 horsepower and 738 pound-feet of torque, which is more power than the old W-12 engine. The new Flying Spur only needs 3.3 seconds to reach 60 mph.
The plug-in hybrid system also has an electric only range of 47 miles on Europe’s WLTP cycle and it can also reach speeds up to 87 mph in EV mode. There are four drive modes to choose from: Pure ECV, Electric Boost, Charge and Regenerative Braking. The Charge mode uses the engine to charge the battery. If you plug it into a Level 2 charger, it will take just two hours and 45 minutes to charge it.
On the outside, the new Flying Spur isn’t a big departure from the last one, but it has a slightly more aggressive face. Buyers can add a Styling Specification aero package, which is available in carbon fiber or body-color.
Inside the tech has been significantly upgraded with a new digital instrument cluster and a touchscreen that features wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. There are three audio systems to choose from. The standard system is a 10 speaker, 650-watt system, while a 16 speaker, 1,500 watt Bang & Olufsen system or a 2,200 watt system are available.
