Nissan is giving the Sentra a facelift for the 2024 model year, which includes updated styling, more standard safety tech and some powertrain improvements.

On the outside the 2024 Sentra gets a new face that’s similar to the Versa and Altima. The redesigned face gets a new version of Nissan’s V-motion grille, new headlights and “vent-like elements” on the outer edges of the bumper. The Sentra SR adds a sportier look with new 18-inch wheels, dark chrome trim for the grille, a lower fascia graphic at the rear and seats with red-orange stitching.

Inside there’s a D-shaped steering wheel and round air vents that Nissan says are inspired by the Nissan Z. The Sentra also gets Nissan’s Zero Gravity seats and there’s 14.3 cubic feet of cargo space. A 7-inch touchscreen is standard, while the Sentra SV and SR models get an 8-inch screen with 6 speakers. In front of the driver the Sentra comes standard with a 4.2-inch display, but that is upgraded to a 7-inch display on SV and SR trim versions.

Under the hood the Sentra is still only offered with one engine, a 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 149 horsepower and 146 pound-feet of torque. The engine is now mated to a new Xtronic CVT transmission that Nissan says improves fuel consumption with a smoother shift pattern. The engine also now gets Idle Stop Start, which turns the engine off when the Sentra is at a stop to save fuel.

The 2024 Sentra comes standard with Nissan Safety Shield 360, which is a suite of six driver-assist systems including Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Blind Spot Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Lane Departure Warning, High Beam Assist and Rear Automatic Braking. The Sentra also comes standard with Intelligent Forward Collision Warning. A standard haptic steering wheel, along with audio cues, helps provide safety alerts to drivers. Adaptive cruise control and 360 degree Around View Monitor are optional. Lastly the Easy-Fill Tire Alert system uses the horn to indicate when the tires are filled to the correct pressure and rear door alert will alert drivers when there might be forgotten items in the back seat when they reach their destination.

The 2024 Nissan Sentra will go on sale latter this summer.
