Last month we got to see the 2024 Chevy Silverado HD and now GMC has unveiled the updates to the 2024 GMC Sierra HD. The big changes are updated styling and a more powerful turbodiesel V8.

2024 GMC Sierra 2500 HD Denali Ultimate

The 6.6-liter turbodiesel Duramax V8 now generates 470 horsepower and 975 pound-feet of torque, which is an increase of 25 hp and 65 lb-ft. GMC says that low-end torque has also increased by 25 percent and the V8 is mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. The 6.6-liter V8 keeps its same power ratings at 401 hp and 464 lb-ft. of torque, but it’s now mated to a 10-speed automatic.

The 2024 GMC Sierra 2500 HD can tow up to 22,500 pounds with the Max Tow Package, while the 3500HD version can tow up to 36,000 pounds.

In terms of styling, there aren’t any big changes, but the front fascia has been updated with a new bumper and grille. There are also new wheel designs and six new paint colors to choose from. Inside there’s an available 13.4-inch touchscreen.

2024 GMC Sierra 3500HD Denali

The 2024 Sierra HD also gets a new Denali Ultimate trim, which gets a unique grille, dark chrome trim, full-grain leather that wraps the seats and door panels, a suede headliner. It also gets a 12-speaker Bose audio system, sixteen-way power massaging front seats and a 15-inch head-up display.

On the tech front, there’s a new transparent trailer camera and a new Gross Combined Weight Rating Alert system that will warn the driver if they have exceeded the truck’s gross combined weight rating. Front Pedestrian Braking has been added as well.

The 2024 GMC Sierra HD will arrive in the first quarter of 2023.
