It seems like we hardly talk about midsize sedans anymore in the news, but there are still a few of them on the market. One of them is the Nissan Altima and it’s getting a facelift for the 2023 model year.

For its mid-life refresh, the 2023 Altima gets a new face with an updated take on Nissan’s V-Motion grille. The headlights have also been updated and at the rear there are new taillights as well. The styling updates are topped off with four new alloy wheel designs and two new colors: Gray Sky Pearl and Garnett Pearl Metallic.

Inside the big news is the addition of a new 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The system also features wireless Apple CarPlay, but it looks like you still need to use a USB cord for Android Auto. A wireless phone charging pad and WiFi hotspot are also available.

On the safety front, the 2023 Altima is available with the ProPilot Assist system that takes over the steering, acceleration and braking. It also comes with the Safety Shield 360 suite, which includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, rear automatic braking, lane departure warning, blind spot warning, rear cross traffic alert and automatic high beams.

The 2023 Altima is available with either a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo or a naturally-aspirated 2.5-liter four-cylinder. The turbo generates up to 248 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque, while the 2.5-liter has up to 188 hp and 180 lb-ft of torque. Both engines are mated to a CVT and all-wheel drive is available with the 2.5-liter.

The 2023 Nissan Altima will arrive this fall.
