Audi has decided to amp up the performance of the RS5 coupe and Sportback with the debut of a new optional Competition package. The package adds upgraded tires, a louder exhaust and some chassis modifications.

2023 Audi RS5 Competition Package

Under the hood there’s still the same twin-turbo 2.9-liter V6 with 444 horsepower and 442 pound-feet of torque, but the top speed has been increased from 174 mph to 180 mph. It gets the “RS Sport Exhaust System Plus,” which gives it a louder exhaust and inside you get to hear it more since 18 pounds of sound insulation has been removed.

The eight-speed automatic transmission has been tweaked a bit to make it shift gears quicker. Audi has also updated the fixed-ratio steering, which Audi calls Sport Direct Steering. The Competition package also adds an adjustable coilover suspension that lowers the RS5 by 0.4 inch, but it can be adjusted to lower the car an additional 0.4 inch for a total height reduction of 0.8 inch compared to the standard RS5. It also gets stickier Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires.

Inside there are a Pearl Nappa and Dinamica seats with Piano Black trim. Alcantara has been added to the steering wheel, shift lever and center console.
